Straightforward answers about how the Vault works, what to expect when you order, and what happens if something needs to change.

Where do your items come from?

We source items through a mix of private collectors, estate clearances, estate sales, trade-ins from other enthusiasts, and direct relationships with local contacts in the rugby community. Each item is assessed for its condition, rarity, and provenance before being listed.

How do you select what goes into the Vault?

Items are reviewed for condition, authenticity markers, and relevance to South African rugby history. We prefer items with a clear story or documented origin. That said, provenance varies — some items come with match programmes, others with word-of-mouth history. We describe what we know in each listing.

Can I inspect an item before buying?

At this stage, we operate online only. We provide detailed photographs and descriptions for every listing. If you have specific questions about a piece, reach out via WhatsApp or email and we will share whatever additional detail we have.

What payment methods do you accept?

Checkout is handled securely through our payment provider, which accepts all major credit and debit cards. Some higher-value items may also be available via EFT on request.

How long does shipping take?

Catalog items ship from Cape Town within 2 business days. Local delivery usually takes 2–5 business days after dispatch. International orders depend on the destination and customs clearance — allow 7–21 business days.

What if my item arrives damaged?

We pack everything with care, but shipping is not always kind. If an item arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos of the packaging and the item. We will review each case individually and work toward a fair resolution.

Can I return an item?

Catalog items can be returned within 7 days if unused and in original condition. Marketplace items (sold by independent collectors) are handled directly with the seller. Return shipping is at the buyer's cost unless the item was misdescribed.

Do you buy items or take trade-ins?

We do. If you have a piece you think belongs in the Vault, send photos and a description to hello@ruggasvault.co.za. We review every submission, though we cannot guarantee we will make an offer.

Can you source a specific item for me?

We do not offer a formal sourcing service, but we are always hunting. If you are looking for something specific, message us on WhatsApp and we will keep an eye out. No commitment — just a heads-up in our network.

Are your jerseys player-worn or replica?

We clearly label whether an item is player-worn, match-issued, or a high-quality replica. If the listing does not specify, it is a standard retail or replica version. When in doubt, ask before ordering.
